Early Childhood 1
Early Childhood Education is a program that offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Education and Training career cluster. The content includes but is not limited to competencies related to the following elements of the Early Childhood industry: planning, management, fiance, technical and production skills: underlying principles of technology, labor, community, health, safety, and environmental issues: and developmentally appropriate practices for children birth through age eight.

Early Childhood 3
Early Childhood Education 3 includes competencies in developing lessons plans, child development theories, factors that affect the development of a child, and developmentally appropriate practices and activities for infant/toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. Also covered are components on working with students with special needs, classroom management techniques and creating optimum environments for all childcare
Students will be c completing a Literacy in-service course on-line. This will complete their required 45 hours to work int he childcare industry.
Join FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America)
FCCLA is the co-curriculum organization that goes along with all courses in Family and Consumer Sciences.
Oakleaf High School's chapter is very active planning school and community projects.
Oakleaf will be competing in district and state competition.
Dues are just $20.00 for the school year and it pays for a chapter t-shirt and senior graduation cords.
